Often in youth sports competition and positive youth development are viewed as all-or-nothing propositions - that in order to be a "youth development" focused team the competition needs to be reduced or removed altogether. This session will outline how creating competitive environments is actually a critical element of building both sport and life skills in sports and will discuss strategies for how coaches can do both.
